Worth it (?)!

Nov 30th, 08 - Sunday at my friend's place in Southampton. Got up late, decided to drive to Stonehenge which is 45 miles west of Southampton. Having read and heard about it, thought it's worth visiting it. It was raining and was freezing cold.

Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in the English county of Wiltshire and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is composed of large standing stones in a circular manner and is believed to be erected around 2500 BC.

We reached there, in spite of the freezing humid weather we took the tickets, made sure to get a cup of coffee and hot chocolate before entering the site. Ohh man, it helped us! We walked around the site like a ritual with our cup of coffee/hot chocolate. We were not allowed to go near it (except on the 21st of June, the longest day of the year). Managed to get some shots. I didn't find anything fascinating about it, except that the far view of it is quite unique, which we had already from the highway. :)

Sometimes you go exploring things which might not be as worth as we thought or read or heard of. We go for it out of curiosity. Worth of it is decided only after being there. Atleast I couldn't decide before. May be it was worth it as my curiosity of seeing it was damped. :)

I haven't had a chance to visit stonehenge while I was in UK. You must understand Thimas Gray' 'The bard' to understand the beauty of stonehenge. Its really 'worht' it!
